Families can enjoy hands-on flowerpot workshops throughout August, which must be booked in advance. The festival was even featured on Channel 5’s Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out, highlighting its growing popularity. With a relaxed atmosphere and creative spirit, it’s a fun and free way to enjoy a summer day in the Yorkshire Dales.

Scarborough Art 2025
Scarborough Art is a month-long celebration of creativity, featuring exhibitions, open studios, and workshops across the town. Whitby Regatta
The Whitby Regatta is preparing a full weekend of entertainment! The event embraces yacht racing, rowing races and various free entertainment. The finale of the weekend will be the prize presentation and spectacular firework display.
The Whitby Regatta is the oldest sea Regatta on the northeast coast. It has an impressive history of over one hundred and eighty years of competition and entertainment! Each year it draws huge crowds into Whitby for the unforgettable display.

Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival
The Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival brings a burst of creativity to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, with a fantastic trail of wacky and wonderful scarecrows to discover. Amanda Harper, presenter from Look North, will be judging the event, so there is extra excitement this year.
You are invited to enjoy a classic Yorkshire family day out, with great value and a relaxed atmosphere. All proceeds support local organisations, and contactless payments are available at stalls, though some cash is needed for car parking.

Ripley Show 2025

NiddArt Trail 2025
NiddArt Trail is a vibrant showcase of local arts and crafts from the artists of Nidderdale. You can explore an array of works including paintings, ceramics, jewellery, and textiles. The trail offers a unique opportunity to watch artistic demonstrations and browse a variety of art forms displayed in local galleries, shops, and clubs.
This year, the event includes both physical venues and an online display starting from 1st August, showcasing the talent of participating artists and craftspeople. The event is organised by a dedicated group of volunteers supported by contributions from charities and other benefactors.

Malham Show brings the best of Yorkshire’s rural traditions to the heart of the Dales. Great Yorkshire Wine & Fizz Festival 2025
The Great Yorkshire Wine & Fizz Festival 2025 at Carlton Towers is a celebration of Yorkshire’s best vineyards. The tasting session runs in the afternoon, and you’ll get a branded glass to take home as a souvenir.

A Lotherton Summer Holiday
A Lotherton Summer Holiday brings six weeks of family fun to the beautiful Lotherton estate near Leeds. You’ll find a packed line-up of children’s entertainment, including a sandpit, crafts, and tractor trailer rides. A family trail through the gardens adds a playful touch to your visit.

You will also hear Yaunfan Yang premiere his Piano Concerto 4, blending Chinese motifs with familiar Yorkshire tunes. BBC Leeds’ Bantam of the Opera choir then lifts spirits with foot-stomping harmonies to close this celebratory programme.

Bradford Faith Trail
Bradford Faith Trail offers a unique opportunity to discover a little bit about Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Christian (Roman Catholic and Church of England) faith buildings. About the faiths within them and how they link into Bradford’s local community culture and faith heritage.
You can visit as many places of worship as you like – each place of worship will be open for set times and you will be shown around by experienced guides who are there to answer your questions, and to make your visit more informative and enjoyable.
The Trail begins at St. Peter’s RC Church at the top of Leeds Road and works its way down Leeds Road, stopping at the Abu Bakar Masjid, the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple and the Guru Gobind Singh Ji Gurdwara, where everybody enjoys a langar (vegetarian lunch). It finishes with a tour of Bradford Cathedral and refreshments.
