Running since 2006, the Saltaire Living Advent Calendar has become a real highlight for Saltaire and Bradford.
With its quirky window designs in picturesque settings, this magical event sees windows light up daily throughout the month in houses, schools, shops and churches until Christmas Eve.

Window designs remain a secret until they are revealed at 4pm on their light-up date, and typically include traditional and modern festive scenes, quirky characters and tales influenced by Saltaire, culture, and the window creators own lives and experiences – often with a good sprinkling of festive humour!
A map showing the locations of the windows can be downloaded at the link below from November and can be picked up at locations throughout Saltaire. Windows are illuminated from 4pm – 10.30pm each evening, until the 1st of January.

Otley Victorian Christmas Fayre
Otley Victorian Fayre was originally the brainchild of Otley Chamber of Commerce. They wanted to give the town’s shops a boost in the run up to Christmas and chose the Victorian theme because it was in the Victorian era that Christmas, as we now know it, really started.
The first Fayre was held in 1985 and was an immediate success. Within a couple of years, the Chamber of Trade realised that it had become too large for them to continue running and so a voluntary committee was formed.
Over the years the volunteers have come and gone. All have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Fayre stays true to the aims that were set down by its founders, which is to promote Otley and encourage visitors to the beautiful town.
The full programme of events is due to be announced soon. Check out the link below for more details.
